The service was good today. Today I had the lunch special: Pimento cheese sandwich and German stew. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste any pimento. Just cheese. I essentially had a melted cheddar cheddar cheese sandwich. My suggestion would be to look up some good recipes and try them out before serving to the public. If you are out, let the consumer know so they can make another selection. Great service though!
I had some excellent food here. The atmosphere was nice. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. The inside feels like a Texas Roadhouse or something similar. But the food is way better. It's all Charleston based food. I had the Gorgonzola Burger. The burger was cooked right, and the caramelized onions were perfect too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are very in line with any other restaurant of this caliber.
We were visiting Dayton while escaping the hurricane in Florida and visited this location once. Carrabelle's had a good selection of daily specials including $4 margaritas on Monday. We ended up ordering drinks including water and a sweet tea and an appetizer of the fried green tomatoes. The fried tomatoes were average, weren't cooked long enough, and barely had any breading on them which didn't stay on the tomato. My fiancee got the pulled pork sandwich which was average as well and in our opinion was under seasoned. She ended up eating all of her fries and leaving the sandwich on the plate. I ordered the special which was the prime rib sandwich and this ended up being the only saving grace for this location. The sandwich was fantastic and perfectly cooked. I would order this sandwich again in a heartbeat! Final comment, our waitress was average and the individual seemed like they didn't care as much. The individual did not know the daily specials, what the kitchen could add on such as onions, types of peppers, etc, and told us the items would be served in a certain manner which ended up being the opposite in which they were served. I would likely not come again and save my money.
PS - I don't mind food places like this and often eat at chains like Apple Bees or Houlihans and love their food! This place just completely dropped the ball.
Tasty lo country with a southern edge! The fried green tomatoes were VERY yummy (and the cajun mayo dip was powerfully addictive!). I ordered the shrimp grits and he had the folly fried steak, both wonderfully flavorful. I saw some negative posts before so we've opted for other places for months... I'm regretting that now. GREAT lo country flavor and good beer selection. I'll be back!!!!
I decided to drop in to check the place out since I'd not been there to my home town in almost 2 years & I discovered Carrabelle's. The food was amazing! Then to make my experience even better, my server was even greater! Her name has slipped my mind since, but I never forget a face. I highly recommend eating there for their food, along with the staff who I believe to be the reason I'd go back time & time again.
